Words and music ©2016-2017 Mario G. Di Sandro Burning Bridges I'm burning bridges for the very last time No longer putting myself on the line I'm crossing water just to reach dry land No longer sinking below this quick sand Don't need a match, cuz time is burning No need for water, cuz I've been drowning I'll steer this boat while it is sinking Don't look back while the smoke is billowing No longer leaving in the middle of the night I'm seeing clearly now with my own sight I'm leaving all my past so far be-hind So tired of this nonsense in my mind Don't need a match, cuz time is burning No need for water, cuz I've been drowning I'll steer this boat while it is sinking Don't look back while the smoke is billowing I'm keeping all my cards close to mine No longer feeling overwhelmed by time Come along and follow me on this ride I've found a door that leads to the other side Don't need a match, cuz time is burning No need for water, cuz I've been drowning I'll steer this boat while it is sinking Don't look back while the smoke is billowing

Writing in Cursive Words and music © 2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro We've forgotten our true selves Who'll remember our past Forgetting our own names While reshuffling the deck Like a concept revealed A mystery understood How can we understand what we don't even know Today's youth don't know the past Words on a screen touching glass Language unfounded to their brain Picking up a pencil sounds insane
A lit-erary tool, so perversive So I'll keep on, writing in cursive The blinding light will guide you on home Death and destruction Is ingrained in their bone Look up all around you So much truth to reveal If but for a fraction We're a mere percentage Today's world don't know the truth False promises of a life so dilute Television screams out your name The lives of before will never be the same A society of fools, so subversive Meanwhile I'll keep on, writing in cursive I might be wrong I could be wrong But at least I know it And at least I show it Enough to make it through Enough to face the truth I imagine the world Blowing up in flames We are steering the boat We are flying the planes We have all of the knowledge Yet we're so off track Is it up to us? To change our own course

Stuck In My Ways Words and music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro You sew the heart up, but it comes unhinged You pull the thread and walk away Spilling more than you can bear You know this moment will come to pass I see a change coming around the bend I never wanted to, but you forced my hand Now i’m still, stuck in my ways Now i’m still, stuck in my ways You’re a hit and run with no witness You stick around just to see it through You swim the ocean but you’re on your knees Underwater, but breathing still I feel a change coming around the bend I didn’t want to, but you forced my hand Now i’m still, stuck in my ways Now i’m still, stuck in my ways… I've been in love but it always ends I've felt the heartaches and the pain it lends I've been deceived, broken and bent I've seen the hurt and the message it sends

Wasted Stories Words and music ©2016-2017 Mario G. Di Sandro Building up for nothing Told you everything I knew What's the point of recycling These wasted stories with someone new It all came falling How was I to know? That you'd stop calling That you'd be someone that I used to know Picking up the pieces Of a yesterday Never thought I'd see this Ending up this way But I know that I must walk on But I know that I must move on For this to fade For this to fade Running out of luck Chancing them dice Trying to see the world Before it sees me looking back What's a boy to do? With this lonely heart Left it out to dry Tried to restart this broken machine Picking up the pieces Of a yesterday Never thought I'd see this Ending up this way But I know that I must walk on But I know that I must move on For this to fade For this to fade It don't come easy Starting from scratch Fumbling on your words Catching yourself getting caught in the act Picking up the pieces Of a yesterday Never thought I'd see this Ending up this way But I know that I must walk on But I know that I must move on For this to fade For this to fade

I Killed A Spider Words and music ©2016 by Mario G. Di Sandro I killed a spider But it don't know Any better Than I do No longer suffering But who am I To decide on Such a fate How many lifetimes Passed before it So unbothered Yet so free To cast judgement Ignorantly Befalls humanity And triggers a shift Walk now lightly For you will see A world unsightly Delivered unto thee I killed a spider Didn’t know it’s name Or it’s story Or where it came Who gave the power To take away The hungry hour Who said you may? The smaller the action The bigger the fate Have we forgotten Or is it too late? Soon there’ll be nothing But scraps at the gate Clawing for something No one to populate Talk now, lightly For you will hear A world revolting A hell amongst this Earth Act now politely For you will be A slave of freedom A soul with no dignity

Walk A Mile 05:56
Walk A Mile Words and music ©2008, 2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro Walk a mile in my shoes Come along and sing these blues Find the darkness inside of you Walk a mile in my shoes Won't find it on the front page news Always battling those post-love blues Never looking for the perfect excuse Always paying his hard-workin' dues Fighting off these post-war blues See it playing on the breaking news Take awhile and see it through Singing these working man blues

You never know just what is going On in other people’s lives Walk a mile in their shoes Might come away, singing the blues
But we judge, much too quick, so take a moment, and reflect Walk a mile in my shoes Come along and sing these blues Find the darkness inside of you Walk a mile in my shoes See it happen right in front of you Feel the pain rip right thru
It’s in a song singing to you
Feel the sadness surrounding you

See me sinking when I think of you
All these feelings, don’t know what to do
Take a moment to find the truth Ain’t changing, only staying true You never know just what is going On in other people’s lives Walk a mile in their shoes Might come away, singing the blues
But we judge, much too quick, so take a moment, and reflect

Highs and Lows Words and music ©2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro Everywhere I go I lose control I just don't know Which me will show I just want... to run away Oh, and I'll come back, I'll find my way.... I'll find my way Sick and down again How long will I last? How long will I last this time All these highs and lows Won't let me go Even I don't know If it'll let me go I move so slow My energy dips low It comes on real slow It surrounds my soul It holds my breath real low Forced beneath the undertow And at once it's gone It never stays too long All these highs and lows Won't let me go Even I don't know If it'll let me go

Putting Out The Fire Words and music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro Putting out the fire In my heart and all desire Blowing in the wind Confessing all my sin Facing all the demons Changing with the seasons Of my past and present Of my name I represent I'll raise the blade Unto the arm That holds me down And strangles life from me I'll choose to live I'll fight the will I'm going home To the place I've always known Meanings take to choices In my head there's noises They lead me to my spirit With a crushing blow I defeat it Feeding into my hunger Giving into wonder Setting out my own path Living thru the aftermath I'll raise the blade Unto the arm That holds me down And strangles life from me I'll choose to live I'll fight the will I'm going home To the place I've always known Putting out the fire... Putting out the fire... Putting out the fire... Putting out the fire... Putting out, putting out Putting out, putting out Putting out, putting out Putting out, putting out

She’ll Never Be Alone Words and Music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro There she was again Sitting all alone You know which one She’s like a setting sun She moves so fast Almost calculated Like she’s being watched At a table reading She always wears it well Been through such hell But she doesn’t show it But she knows it She’ll never be alone… But her heart is made of stone She’s at the bar She smiles your way now While she waiting Her boyfriend is paying Her hair’s pulled up And jeans are faded like a magazine ad has Been recreated Her chiseled face Your brain can’t re-place You’ll get her number But she’ll leave you in wonder She’ll never be alone… But her heart is made of stone She’s got tattooed arm Some have faded Like her memories Are her only enemies Her piercings shine Off the dashboard radio She’s got the time To be anywhere now Her radiant smile Will drive you crazy You’ll book the next plane home And she’ll leave you lazy She’ll never be alone… But her heart is made of stone

Give a Mouse a Cookie Words and music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro Honing in the skills to survive Coming to age and feeling alive Chance and opportunity knock It's your path to take and walk A solitary man takes his time To shape his path on down the line A peaceful, but lonely existence Can lead some to resistance Humans wish they had taken, their last step first Leaving them with an, unquenchable thirst If you let them in the door, no, they won't leave Asking for more, a complexity we did weave You're given choices to move this tide Or you'll be living on the other side Shuffling past the future on the street Play your cards right and you'll have a seat Breathing wisdom, he offers a line A noble life with no papers to sign Staring off deep past the ocean His world is constantly in motion Humans wish they had taken, their last step first Leaving them with an, unquenchable thirst If you let them in the door, no, they won't leave Asking for more, a complexity we did weave If you give A mouse a cookie Then it will Ask for some milk If you continue Down this path Nothing will ever Ever last

Deconstructing a Bomb Words and music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro We are flying high on better days now crashing low in other ways Believe Circumstance can be a moment in time Left better for dead On the side of the road Truth Can't be told in lies Disrespect the laws of Human condition Are you ready for this? Thoughts are things So don't let them live Things manifest Thoughts don’t rest Just let them breathe Or you'll be Spending your time De-constructing a bomb Old And growin' towards death A vision is kept Underneath the guise of youth, I suspect Life Staring down a ledge A different point of view From the many who silently suffer Time Ruminates on ghosts An elaborate hoax This existence we are given, to run wild and free Thoughts are things So don't let them live Things manifest Thoughts don’t rest Just let them breathe Or you'll be Spending your time De-constructing a bomb Hurt the aching heart Pounds a mile away thru the chambers Of now your poisoned blood Sin You’re praying too hard For the chosen ones Forgotten daughters and sons Equal but not the same Death Is kneeling too close To wicked thoughts Flying towards the sun Melting all your wax Thoughts are things So don't let them live Things manifest Thoughts don’t rest Just let them breathe Or you'll be Spending your time De-constructing a bomb

Out In The Universe Words and music ©2016-2017 by Mario G. Di Sandro If, if you can breathe Then why can't you see that It's out in the universe For us, to be, in harmony So, if we can live Here on this Earth only With all that she's given to us But we, must, give up our greed Say, say what you want It will not change my thoughts on All that the world has taught me But we, have, so much to learn Well, if you do try Try with your might and You can be anything that You'd like, it's all up to you Live, live for each day Like it's your last stand Go and see everything that There is, don't let, your life go past Love, love with your heart remove all the doubt and see that forever leaves you with a, piece, for you to hold

The Long Swim Words and music ©2017 Mario G. Di Sandro You, don’t know, just how it feels to be So, a-lone, and waiting for the day
For, the pain, to fin-ally disappear Then, and only, then will I find my peace

I won’t, give up Livin’ on the edge of the world I won’t, give in Not going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Love, is felt, but can’t compete with it Dark, and down, making my way back up Only, to fall, down all the steps i’ve taken Sand, like time, erases all you’ve done I won’t, give up Livin’ on the edge of the world I won’t, give in Not going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Heart, is heavy, from carrying all the burden Breath, is slow, feeling so par-a-lyzed

I won’t, give up Livin’ on the edge of the world I won’t, give in Not going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim
Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim Going for the long swim

about

'Walk A Mile' is my 10th album, and by far my most personal one lyrically and topically. This album touches on the difficult days and moments dealing with depression and anxiety daily and even coming face to face with death, all while making some very challenging decisions and personal changes. I really hope you listen attentively to all the components of each track. Each song tells a story and is part of the collective journey. I sing all the vocals and play on every instrument. It's the most complete and honest album I've ever created. Thanks for listening.
